 Beautifully ruby-garnet in color, highlighted by bright and clear pink reflections. Expressive yet frank on the nose, with notes of red and blackcurrants, cooked plums, toasted barrel wood and earthy, mineral-rich undergrowth, all indicative of the cooler growing season, made even more obvious by the lack of green notes from the cabernet franc. Supple and round on the palate, with notes of dark fruits like blackberries and plums, leather, and wet clay that lightens on the transition to the mid-palate where notes of fresh red currants dominate all the way through the finish. these fresher notes are bolstered by the fine tannins and subtle yet present acidity which will help this last for 7 to 8 years.
