Somewhat “atypical” for a Mediterranean red, as it comes across straightforward and racy, like the tracks of a Corsican flavor train. The beautiful light ruby-red color belies a nose of cherry and wild strawberry, tossed with thyme, crushed flowers and pink peppercorns. The palate is elegant and concentrated, with notes of red-berried fruit, stewed tomato, flowery hibiscus tea and dried herbs over a bed of stony minerality. The acidity, brighter than the Mediterranean sun, is more than a match for the juicy fruit notes, keeping them in check (without dulling their expression) before the finish transitions to an earthy savoriness that invites another sip.
