This bottle shows how the same Mediterranean influence that we love in our Rosé can make for a great bottle of red. Hints of violet shine in the purple body of the wine. The nose is immediately reflective of the grape used for the wine: Ripe Syrah provides notes of pepper, licorice and peony surrounding a core of red and black berries from the Merlot. The wonderfully mature palate is as reflective of its makeup as the nose, with red fruit, blackberry and spice notes riding the velvety tannins and smooth acidity all the way through the rounded, fleshy finish.
