The nose is light and discrete, with notes of red plums, cherries, undergrowth, dark soil, cocoa, fresh herbs and a touch of oak. On the medium-bodied palate, notes of crunchy black fruits and ripe red cherries are contrasted by the soil and cool stone notes that are highlighted by subtle hints of purple flowers to add a perfumed complexity to an otherwise deeply fruity core. The long and tangy finish is supported by the grippy, ripe tannins and the generous levels of acidity. A bit reserved, this wine will definitely benefit from bottle aging, but is nonetheless deliciously overperforming now.
