This, the “34th Bottling” of Mirabelle’s North Coast Blanc De Blanc, is an excellent Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wine from this side of the Atlantic. On the nose, it opens with aromas of lemon and lime zest, pink apples and green pears before deepening and transitioning to the toasty baked notes of wheat bread, vanilla cookies and almond-rich marzipan. On the palate, tropical notes of baked pineapple, pear tarts and lemon are carried all the way through the long finish by the fine perlage, lifted above a bed of honeycomb.
