A deep garnet-purple core framed by ruby-red highlights on the edges. The nose is fresh and savory, with notes of blackberry, raspberry, and red fruit alongside notes of milk chocolate, dried earth, baking spices and a whiff of dill. The palate is practically bursting with fruit as flavors of vivid ripe raspberry, blueberry, black cherry, blackberry cobbler, and plums are balanced against notes of earth, licorice and pepper, all backed by a bedrock of salty and stony undertones. The slightly cooler vintage is showcased in the great tension between the fruit expression and excellent acidity as the tannins are so fine grained they appear as non-existent as a ghost before the finish ends with orchard fruits and the faint coconut-like character of American oak.
