Shining, light gold in the glass, highlighted by bright, lime-green reflections around the edges. Bright, luscious aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit and yellow guava are joined by notes of preserved lemons, an ocean-air salinity and just the slightest hint of smoke. The palate trades overt tropicality for stony minerality and herbal precision without being too grassy: notes of white-fleshed nectarine, fleshy peach, white grapefruit and apricot are joined by lemon zest, toasted herbs and a consistent underlayer of saline that lasts through the finish, brought on by crisp, vibrant acidity balanced by the fresh notes of the palate. This is a great choice for those who lean toward Loire Sauvignon Blanc or coastal Italian whites, as well as being very food friendly.
