A classically balanced example of valley floor Cabernet Sauvignon, with its deep ruby color and plum-purple highlights. On the nose, fruity notes of blackberries, mission figs and black cherries are joined by notes of toasted oak and vanilla, with just a hint of cedar and tobacco. Dark flavors on the palate, with vivid blackberry, cassis and boysenberry notes complemented by dark chocolate, sun-baked earth and some floral nuances form the other grapes in the mix. The texture is well polished, with a firm tannin structure that feels like velvet in the mouth, leading to a finish of stewed fruits, sage, thyme and toasted nuts.
